MatchWorks SMS Privacy Policy

MatchWorks Tennis is operated by MATCHWORKS LLC. When you join, we collect your mobile number, consent and verification records, chosen first name or nickname, playing preferences, tennis requests, delivery information, private messages you send through MatchWorks, appointment responses and optional private reliability feedback. We use these records to provide matching, route conversations, send scheduling reminders, prevent misuse, troubleshoot delivery and honor your choices.

Your mobile information

We do not share, sell, rent, or provide mobile information, including mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, and messaging consent, to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Service providers

We use SMS delivery providers, Cloudflare for application hosting and storage, and OpenAI to support conversational matching and automated safety screening. These providers process information only as needed to operate the service; this does not authorize them to market to you.

Private matching and conversations

MatchWorks does not display your mobile number or email address to other players. Potential partners see only the first name or nickname you choose, your playing level and relevant playing location and availability. Messages you choose to send are shared with their intended participant. Private messages may be automatically screened for serious safety concerns and reviewed by an authorized operator when flagged or reported; this is not end-to-end encryption. If you type contact details into a message, its recipient can see them. A recipient can retain, copy, or take screenshots of delivered messages. MatchWorks cannot remove those copies from another person’s device, device backups, or a messaging provider’s records.

Private reliability feedback

After a confirmed game, MatchWorks may ask whether play occurred and whether it should suggest that player again. A private “no” prevents future suggestions between those players. MatchWorks may ask for one limited reason: no-show, late, cancelled, conduct or sportsmanship, not a good tennis match, or other. Private feedback may improve future match suggestions. The other player is not told who answered or what response was given. MatchWorks does not publish player ratings, reviews or negative labels.

MatchWorks records when a game was mutually confirmed and when it was cancelled. A cancellation is classified as late only when it falls within half of the available confirmed lead time, capped at 12 hours. Reliability patterns are reviewed manually. The ordinary administrator review shows aggregate counts only, without reporter identity, phone numbers or private message bodies. A pattern flag is not a finding and does not automatically warn, score, suspend or penalize a player.

Retention and deletion

MatchWorks keeps account and service records while your account is active and afterward only as reasonably needed to operate and secure the pilot, honor opt-outs, resolve disputes, enforce these terms, and meet legal obligations. Some technical and audit records have shorter routine retention periods. Service logs may include timestamps, participants, delivery information, and limited conversation context needed for these purposes, subject to the same retention limits. Replying STOP deactivates participation by text but does not itself delete the account or records needed to honor the opt-out.

Email glenn@matchworkstennis.com to request access, correction, or deletion, including deletion of a reliability record concerning you, and include the mobile number enrolled with MatchWorks. MatchWorks may verify that you control that number by text before acting. After a verified deletion request, MatchWorks will delete or deidentify account records it controls, except for limited records that must be kept for an active safety investigation, fraud or abuse prevention, an unresolved dispute, compliance with law, or proof of consent and opt-out. Those exceptions are kept only for the applicable purpose and for no longer than reasonably necessary.

Operator access and lawful disclosure

Access is limited to authorized operators and service providers who need the information to run, support, secure, or review the service. Administrative safety and reliability review actions are logged. MatchWorks may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with valid legal process, protect a person from serious harm, investigate fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

Message frequency varies with verification, matching and conversation activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts and matching, or HELP for assistance. Conversations do not switch to email.
