MatchWorks SMS Terms & Conditions
MatchWorks SMS is a free service operated by MATCHWORKS LLC for adults 18 and older who are seeking tennis partners in the United States. It covers phone verification, tennis requests, potential matches, match updates, private player conversations, scheduling reminders and optional private follow-up. Participation requires explicit consent and phone verification. MatchWorks uses text messaging for matching and conversations; email matching and email relays are not offered.
Frequency and charges
Message frequency varies with your activity and matching opportunities. Message and data rates may apply under your mobile plan. Delivery can be delayed or unavailable. Carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
Stopping messages and getting help
Reply STOP to opt out of texts or HELP for assistance. You may also email glenn@matchworkstennis.com for support. Stopping texts ends matching and private conversations by text. To return after opting out, you must give consent and verify your phone again.
Account deactivation and deletion
Replying STOP deactivates participation by text; it does not itself delete your account. To request deletion, email glenn@matchworkstennis.com and include the mobile number enrolled with MatchWorks. MatchWorks may verify control of that number by text and may retain limited records for an active safety or legal matter, fraud or abuse prevention, an unresolved dispute, legal compliance, or proof of consent and opt-out. A recipient can retain, copy, or take screenshots of delivered messages, and MatchWorks cannot remove those copies from the recipient’s device, backups, or provider records.
Matching and conversations
Private conversations open only after both players express interest. MatchWorks does not display either player’s mobile number to the other. Participants may voluntarily share information in their messages. An introduction does not reserve a court, guarantee a partner or obligate anyone to play. Players are responsible for confirming the time, court, access, reservations and any charges directly with one another.
Scheduling and private follow-up
When both players confirm a specific game, MatchWorks may send reminders and record a cancellation. For internal reliability review, a cancellation is considered late when it occurs within half of the time between final game confirmation and the scheduled start, capped at 12 hours. The cancellation message sent to the other player remains neutral.
After a game, MatchWorks may ask whether play occurred and whether it should suggest the same player again. A private “no” prevents future suggestions between those players. MatchWorks may then ask for one limited reason, such as no-show, late, cancelled, conduct or sportsmanship, not a good tennis match, or other. Feedback is private and is not published as a rating, review or player score. Reports are considered in context, and patterns are reviewed manually; no report automatically causes action. Email glenn@matchworkstennis.com to request correction or review of a record concerning you.
Respectful participation and safety
Do not threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate, sexually coerce, spam or misrepresent yourself. Keep another player’s private information private. Messages may be automatically screened or privately reviewed when flagged or reported. Context matters, and an automated flag or single report does not automatically cause a penalty. MatchWorks may restrict serious or repeated misuse after review. See the Safety Policy.
