MatchWorks Safety Policy

MatchWorks is for adults 18 and older. Meet at an appropriate public tennis facility, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transportation and use your own judgment. A MatchWorks introduction is not an identity check, background check or guarantee of another player’s conduct.

Respectful communication

Do not threaten, stalk, harass, intimidate or sexually coerce another player. Do not disclose another player’s private information. Ordinary social conversation and competitive tennis banter are allowed. MatchWorks considers words in context; a tennis expression is not automatically treated as a threat.

Screening and review

Private messages pass through MatchWorks. Messages may be automatically screened for serious safety concerns and reviewed by an authorized operator when flagged or reported. Operator review is limited to what is reasonably needed, and administrative review actions are logged. Automated flags are not findings and do not automatically penalize a player. MatchWorks considers context, surrounding messages, severity and repeated conduct.

Your controls

You may naturally ask MatchWorks to close a conversation, stop suggesting a player or report a message. For a safety concern, preserve the original message thread, take screenshots if helpful, and report the matter promptly. Screenshots can help document what happened but are personal copies, not official MatchWorks records, and may omit context or independently verified message details. MatchWorks logs may preserve timestamps, participants, the reported message, and limited surrounding context for private review, including after an account-deletion request while the safety matter remains active and subject to the retention limits in the Privacy Notice. The other player is not told who submitted private feedback. Reply STOP to end all MatchWorks texts or HELP for assistance.

Possible action

MatchWorks may warn, restrict or remove an account when review finds serious or repeated misuse. A single ambiguous phrase does not cause an automatic sanction. If you believe anyone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services; MatchWorks is not an emergency service.
